Summer Entertaining



I love entertaining. Whether with my family or friends, creating a warm, welcoming, pretty space brings me so much joy

Life is stressful and seems to just be getting harder for everyone. That’s why we need these events - to reconnect and feel human, to be in the presence of those people that make us happy

It’s the little moments that bring so much happiness. Maybe it’s just a quick tea with a friend or lunch with my daughter and grandson. Or maybe a light lunch with friends to share a laugh and trade stories. Whatever the moment, I always want to make sure it’s a time to remember. 

When I paint a collection, I never know 100% where it is going to end up. Will it be framed as wall decor or as a canvas? Will the patterns make their way onto fabric or soft goods for the kitchen? Maybe magnets, stationery or dinnerware. 

I think dinnerware is one of my favorites. Product designers take patterns and art and create tabletop collections like magic. I am always so thrilled to see what combinations they make and how the whole look comes together. And when the samples arrive … well … I can’t even describe the feeling. 

You might remember a collection I created called “Inner Garden”

Inspired by wildflowers, I painted the whole watercolor collection in soft mint green and pretty pinks with touches of sage and fern popping in and out. The look is soft and easy, with big strokes of paint that felt very gestural and natural. 

When Lang picked up the collection for ceramic kitchen and serving ware plus an apron, table runner and dishtowels I was overjoyed. What would they create? How would they interpret my vision for the collection? Would I love what they created? 

I am happy to tell you that I am thrilled.  Thrilled doesn’t even really cut it. I am over the moon. 

My new collection with Lang

This set arrived just in time for summer entertaining and as a pretty boost of pretty color any time of the year. I love how the fabrics and ceramics go together to create a cohesive look for the table and kitchen. It’s all a bit cottagecore and grand millennial with a fresh twist.

I am so grateful for my relationship with Lang. I can always count on them to create the best quality products that I can be proud to share with all of you.
